Arrested FP Woman claims she has Worms.

A woman wanted on multiple felony warrants in Fort Pierce told arresting officers she had a highly contagious case of worms. Police received a tip on the whereabouts of 29-year-old Rebecca Peruggi. Two detectives responded and found the woman hiding under a bed. Police said she resisted arrest as the detectives tried to get her into handcuffs. As the officers took her outside, she told them she had worms. The detectives took her to the hospital to be checked out. The medical staff, according to the report, did not find any worms. According to the report, police found several used, uncapped syringes on Peruggi. One detective reported a minor scratch on their leg. As a result, authorities reported a possible exposure incident since Peruggi claimed to have an infectious disease and the officer had no idea how the scratch got onto their leg.
