Sad anniversary of Death of Sergeant Gary Morales

Today is the four year anniversary of the death of Sergeant Gary Morales.  Sergent Morales was killed in the line of duty.

Sergeant Morales joined the St Lucie County Sheriff’s Office in October of 2000.

On the morning of February 28th, 2013 he made a traffic stop on a suspect just south of Fort Pierce following a brief pursuit.

The suspect fatally shot him before Sgt Morales could get out of his car.

His killer was subsequently found guilty of murder in 2016 and sentenced to death.
